REMIXES

Beastie Boys - Alive (Deep Mix)

This remix I made in the summer of '07, where my entire goal was to create a slowly-building quality to the music. Of course, my lack of production skills hindered some of the impact of it but I still really like this if not for the melodic synth line in it, not-to-mention that this piece propelled me into doing overall more melodic works.

Beastie Boys - Body Movin' (Minor Movement Remix)

This remix was also made in the summer of '07, however it preceded the "Alive" remix. This was one of the first tracks I used light distortion on the drum to get them to sound "grunge-ier" and I must say that I think it worked. Everything else was kind of based off of playing along with the drums. My favorite part though is the vocoding at the end, which was spawned by one of my friends pestering me to include vocoding in one of my tracks. Its in there Stephen.

Beastie Boys - Brouhaha (Codefined Mix)

This particular remix was started in the summer of '07, but finished much much later. It started with the simple pad loop heard throughout the song and eventually I made everything around it. Its really stripped down and has an unfinished feel to it but I quite like it this way and I can't see myself "finishing" it as I kinda love its obvious rough edges.

Fort Minor - Right Now (Tryin' to Get Inspired Remix)

Another rough-sounding remix from me that was made in the span of about 2 days at the same time as the Jay-Z remix I did under my "The Vagrance" moniker. I like the loose feel to it all, but I will say it sounds a lot sloppier than most anything else I've made. More a sketch than a finished product but its free, and the stabs are pretty nice sounding.

Beastie Boys - Electrify (Summer Remix)

Oddly enough this was made before the summer. It was created sometime in April (I think) due to a challenge by someone (on GameFAQs) to make a beat using the "Summer in the City" song. Probably my simplest remix but according to others my best. The beat came first and I had Beastie Boys a ca pellas sitting in my samples folder so I slapped one on, reworked the beat a bit, and was finished. I really enjoyed doing this remix though and if it wasn't for this, none of my other rap remixes would have existed.
